  • We offer all of our furniture in walnut and white ash wood with a clear, hand-rubbed oil finish. We do not use any synthetic stains or dyes, preferring instead to focus on the natural colors and character of the wood, bringing out its beauty as much as possible.

    Our burnt black finish is created by charring white ash wood or red oak with a torch, scrubbing off the excess ash, and then sealing it with a hand-rubbed oil finish. That gives us a black that’s deeper and has more character than a stain would and also exposes the texture of the wood.

    We take custom orders to build in different wood species as well, and are always happy to work through options with you if you are looking for something specific. If you're curious, don’t hesitate to ask! It’s a conversation we love to have.

  • We are passionate about wood because every board is defined by its own individual character and is full of life. As we build, we do our best to lean into the individuality of each piece of wood, drawing it out to make an object with its own stunning individuality.

    Variations in the grain and color of the wood, sapwood, small knots, mineral streaking are not defects and are not grounds for a return, but indeed the very reason we build out of wood in the first place.

    We also reserve the right to alter minor details of our products to help us maintain design integrity through the production process. Products shipped might have minor variations from those depicted on our website or in our product information.

  • We offer free shipping anywhere in the contiguous United States though FedEx or UPS ground. If you are in the outlying US or in a foreign country send us an inquiry and we will get you a custom quote for shipping. Also, if you are looking for expedited shipping let us know and we can get you a quote.

  • We work very hard to design and package your furniture so that it arrives safely, but shipping furniture can be challenging, and sometimes it does arrive damaged. We will replace (if the object is in our standard product line) or repair (if it’s a one-off object) the damaged part. We ask that the damaged part be shipped back to us, at our expense, as part of that process.

    If your product arrives damaged:

    Save all packaging and clearly photograph any damage on it

    Clearly photograph all damage to the product

    Email us with photos of the damage within 48 hours of receiving the shipment

    Any determination of defects or damage to Arid products is at our sole discretion.

    If a defect or damage determination is made, a return authorization is required to ship back the item. Returns must be shipped with the original packaging. Items returned incomplete, damaged or without defect will be assessed a restocking fee of 30% plus shipping costs.

    If you purchased your order from one of our retailers, please contact the retailer directly for their claims policy.

  • In-stock items ship in 3 to 5 days. Made-to-order items ship within 4 to 6 weeks. If an order needs to be expedited we can often rush it for an additional 20% fee on the total price, shipping it within 3 weeks or less. If you would like to rush your order let us know as soon as possible so we can let you know if we have room to facilitate it in our production schedule.

    Lead times start with the finalization of the order and receipt of payment. While we work very hard to hold to them, any dates or times provided are considered estimates, and we are not responsible for expenses incurred by delays.

  • We understand that sometimes things are not what you expect, and we offer no questions asked returns on our standard product line within 14 days of delivery. We do charge a 20% restocking fee, however, and the cost of outgoing as well as return shipping which can be quite substantial for our larger pieces. If you are considering a return, Contact Us to get the process started and we will go over the costs involved and see if there is anything less drastic we can do to solve your concerns.

    Items must be returned in the condition in which they were received. If there are any damaged or missing parts there may be additional charges to cover the repairs to the item.

    Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on any custom projects or one off objects.

    If your shipment arrives with any defective or missing parts we will gladly fix or replace them at no additional cost (see What if my shipment arrives damaged? above for details).

    We start processing your order as soon as it is received. For in-stock items, you can cancel your order until it has been processed for shipment. We try to ship out as quickly as possible though, sometimes on the same day as the order is received, so cancellation is not always practical.

    Made-to-order items can be canceled with no additional fee within 48 hours of the receipt of the order. We charge a 5% processing fee to cancel after that time, and cannot cancel the order after the first board has been cut for your project, which can happen anywhere from three days to three weeks after the order has been placed

    Any refunds will be issued in the same way that they were received.

    Official estimates received in writing from Arid are valid for 30 days from the date of the estimate. Our prices are subject to change without notice.

  • Arid offers a one-year warranty from the date of shipment for its products against defects of materials or workmanship, provided that it was used under normal conditions and for the purposes for which it was designed. In case of damage or defect due to manufacturing, we will replace, repair, or refund the item at no charge and at our sole option and discretion.

    This warranty does not include the following: damage caused by improper care or cleaning; damage caused by alterations, exposure to weather, dramatic temperature variations, or unusual conditions; any normal cracking or wear on the finish due to use and aging; damage from typical wear such as, but not limited to, denting, stains, abuse, or scratches; installation or assembly of the product that does not follow the instructions; damage caused by careless removal of packaging.

    To make a warranty claim send us an email with clear photographs and a description of the damage and we will get back to you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible

    This warranty only applies to the original purchaser of the product, valid while they own the merchandise. Arid will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from any product defect.

  • We offer our collection at a discounted rate to members of the design trades including architects, developers, interior designers, and the hospitality industry. Please contact us to apply for a trade discount.
